Seventy years in the hardwood industry has
taught us many things.
One is that this industry is resilient and durable, so we know it
will recover stronger than it was.
Two is that if you don’t listen to your customers, you won’t
make it seventy years.
Here are some of the benefits we offer because
we listened. Maybe these
could benefit you too, so we wanted to explain these from our
perspective.
CONSISTENCY. When
you are purchasing a raw material that was living and growing,
consistency is not a given.
Consistency comes from control.
To create consistency, we harvest our raw material from a
close area around our mills.
We control the manufacturing process from harvest to kiln
drying. We stipulate the
same grading and preparation procedures for each of our facilities.
Surprises can be good (on Christmas morning), but when you
are buying a resource for processing or resale, consistency is best.
ON TIME.
Scheduling and theories about inventory have changed over
seventy years. Inventory
is money and competition dictates our money isn’t tied up in
inventory. We
understand, and while it wasn’t always our strongest quality, we are
now proud to talk about our delivery record.
We have improved the communication of information between our
mills and our transportation department through IT improvements.
We pursue new contract carrier relationships to ensure
constant availability of carriers.
WE operate several company trucks for when a load simply has
to be there, and all else fails.
When you order from us we realize you ordered something you
need and getting it to you is not a matter of convenience, but an
immediate priority.
PRESENTATION. No one
wants their lumber to arrive for use or resale looking like a shaken
box of toothpicks. We
got it! We use pneumatic
banders to ensure tightness on our packages.
We even end our packs for better secondary handling or
display. We use corner
protectors so your lumber is not damaged when banded.
We offer end paint and logo (ours or yours) capabilities.
We clearly mark pack numbers, footage, and pieces on our
packages. Our bills of
ladings have bundle summaries printed on them for easy check without
the hassle of ‘tally chasing’.
You are paying good money for our products; we don’t want
your first impression to be regret.
SERVICE.
Service is a general term with a lot of connotations.
For us, service starts with our people.
Our sales staff and manufacturing personnel are veterans of
the industry. Their
perspective equips us to adapt as you, our customer, needs us to.
We take nothing for granted.
We realize there are hundreds of companies you could buy
from, so from prompt responses and friendly attitudes to pertinent
suggestions, convenient solutions and constant accessibility, we
want to earn your business.
Service is also capabilities.
We have the capability to help you maximize yield and service
the most scrutinizing requests.
Through sorting and proprietary capabilities we can meet
specific needs, but still maintain a balance that enhances the
quality of our random stock.
We understand and welcome mixed load requests.
If we don’t have something precisely as you need it, seventy
years of contacts is a good resource that allows you to focus on the
more important task of running your business.
Test our serviceability, we welcome it.
